A record setting day in Saint Paul

St. Patrick’s Day in Saint Paul is a big deal.  Every year, there’s a parade along with plenty of drunken commotion in the streets until the wee hours of the morning.  Usually St. Patrick’s Day is either cold, wet, or both.This year, we hit a new record for high temperature at 80 degrees.

This is the earliest in the year that we’ve every hit 80.  The previous record was March 22nd.  No, it’s not lost on me that Yesterday, the 20th, was the first day of spring.  That means that we had an 80 degree day in Winter in… MINNESOTA!

Rather than joining the brawl, we decided to spend the day in the sun at Harriet Island Regional Park across the river from downtown.  We took a bunch of pictures and shot some video using a new camera mount that I’ll detail in the near future.
