Current Hard Work Update – January 30, 2012

There are only a couple of things to mention for this update.  First, I haven’t made a whole lot of progress on my current hard work list, but I have been productive on some other projects, so I’m ok with that.

One thing that I have been working on that correlates with doing a better job of showcasing people and products I believe in is my review for Mojo Monkey Donuts from a couple of weeks ago.  I put a very short video on YouTube with a few pictures and a quick pan of the shop to give an idea of what to expect.  What surprised me is that within a couple of hours of uploading the video, The people at Mojo Monkey Donuts put a link up on their website to the review and embedded the video.

I thought it was really cool to be included like that just because I put them out there on this blog.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened.  A few months ago, a couple of my pictures and videos from the Maiden Rock Winery & Cidery Medieval Feast were included in their newsletter, which was also pretty cool.

Speaking of videos, when I added some videos of Red Bull Crashed Ice to YouTube, I figured they’d get some views.  I totally was not expecting to get thousands of views within days.  A few weeks after that one-time event, I’m still getting days with 300-500 views.  SWEET!

Both of these cases are motivation for me to continue highlighting people and products that are worth your time to check them out and to keep working on my video production skills.
