Help me pack light

Next weekend I’ll be in Nashville for the Quitter Conference.  First, I need to get there.  I want to pack as light as possible and still have everything I need for a couple of days in a town I’ve never been to.

I’m taking a backpack and a laptop bag as carry-on luggage.  That’s it.  What do I need to bring and how should I pack it?  What are you best airline travel tips?

Here’s what I know I’m bringing:

  • laptop w/ charger
  • pocket video camera w/ charger and extra batteries
  • notepad and pen
  • toiletries (as few and as small as possible)
  • 2 shirts
  • shorts
  • underwear
  • 1 pair of socks (I usually don’t wear them anyway)
  • travel itinerary, directions, etc.
  • phone
  • packable jacket (maybe)

What am I forgetting?  What creature comforts should go with?

I travel even less than you do.

    Here is my list.

    1. Phone
    2. All 4 children
    3. Wife

Julie’s list has about 100,000 items on it.

I bet there are lots of husbands that have a list similar to yours.
